Engineering Club

Engineering Club

Description

Field of Interest (FOI) - STEM

The purpose of the Engineering Club is to motivate, inspire, and support aspiring engineering students to become successful engineers. By promoting academic and professional networking the Engineering Club's focus is to help students problem solve, be creative, and learn about the possibilities of a vast array of engineering disciplines.

Each Friday there is an online Engineering Club meeting from 3 - 4p.m. This is a great opportunity for you to connect with other students interested in engineering or computer science. The club works on projects during the semester, where students are provided free kits at the beginning of the semester, and then there are workshops each week to teach the students how to build things. Last semester, students were provided Arduino microprocessors, LEDs, and sensors. They learned how to connect the sensors to the Arduino and program it to collect the data and light up LEDs. This semester the club was planning on building model rockets and using sensors to measure the acceleration and altitude.
