You Belong Here!

We are so glad you chose GCC and we care about your success! Maximize your college experience by connecting with a Peer Success Coach! Your Peer Success Coach will add value to your time at GCC by providing opportunities for personal development and connecting with your campus community in a virtual or physical setting. Success Coaching is for everyone; new students and continuing students preparing to enter the workforce, or transfer to a university.

Find a Peer Success Coach

How it Works

The GCC Peer Success Coach program in partnership with the Mentor Collective platform enhances the student experience by matching you to a Peer Success Coach. Students are paired with someone invested in their success — a person ready to listen, inspire, help navigate challenges, and recognize opportunities.

Peer Coaches

Students can expect to:

  • Set goals for success
  • Create action plans
  • Improve time-management skills
  • Identify essential resources provided by our GCC Campus Community.

As a recent graduate or current student, your Peer Success Coach is familiar with the GCC campus community, opportunities, resources, departments, clubs, programs, and spaces that provide academic support.

Common Topics Students Discuss with their Peer Success Coach

Coach Logo

  • How do I balance the demands of school, work, and socializing?
  • How do I get involved in clubs, programs or athletics?
  • How can I set myself up for academic, social, and career success?
  • How do I make connections with peers and professional staff?

The Mentor Collective Platform

Students will be matched with a Peer Success Coach based on common interests, background, academics, and degree or career goals through the Mentor Collective Platform. To get started, students and coaches register with Mentor Collective and complete an online survey to paint a holistic picture of their interests and experiences. Students and coaches are encouraged to communicate at least 2-4 times per month. After being matched, you may connect with your Peer Success Coach via videochat, text message, phone call, email, or in-person! (All participants are given anonymous phone numbers for communication.)
