Unlocking your peak performance
What is a VO2 max?
VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen your body can utilize during intense exercise- it's the gold standard of measuring aerobic endurance. The higher your VO2 max, the more efficiently your body can perform over time, especially in endurance-based sports like running, cycling, and swimming.
What will you learn?
Our VO2 max test delivers a deep dive into your performance capacity. You'll receive a detailed report that includes:
-
VO2 max (mL/Kg/min): Your aerobic capacity score, compared to national norms
-
Heart Rate data: Including max heart rate
-
METs (Metabolic Equivalents): A reflection of how hard your body is working.
-
Anaerobic Threshold (AT): The point where your body shifts from using mostly aerobic to anaerobic energy systems. Great for designing training intensities
-
Respiratory Data: Like breathing rate, ventilatory efficiency
What to Expect During the Test
The test takes about 30-35 minutes total, with the maximal portion lasting around 8-12 minutes.
Here's how to prepare:
-
Wear comfortable workout clothes
-
Bring running shoes
-
Be ready to give your best effort- this is a test to exhaustion!
Depending on your goals, the test is performed on either a treadmill or cycle ergometer using a scientific protocol (e.g., Bruce or Lewis). You'll wear a mask to measure your breath-by-breath gas exchange and a heart rate monitor for accuracy.
Package Options
VO2 max is available in three formats :
-
The Works Package ( all major assessments bundled) $330
-
Athlete's Package #2 (Performance Specific) $220
