Counseling Services

If you are a GCC student, and you would like to talk with someone about finding a career that’s a good fit for you, or about a problem or obstacle that’s keeping you from reaching your career, academic, and/or personal goals, please contact our front desk staff. Send an email to counseling@gccaz.edu or call our front desk staff at (623) 845-3064. There is no charge for counseling services.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, appointments are primarily available to phone or video call meetings, however some limited in-person walk-ins and appointments are available.

Please be aware that counseling faculty do not provide therapeutic counseling, but they are able to refer you to therapists in the community.

If you are experiencing a crisis, please contact the 24-hour Maricopa Crisis line at (602) 222-9444.

If you are a student and need help selecting classes, please contact an academic advisor by sending an email to advisoronline@gccaz.edu

Disruptive Student Response Protocol

Counseling Faculty Assists With

Career Development

  • Counseling faculty use Career assessment tools to help you identify your values, interests, personality type, and skills and explore career options. Make an appointment with one of the counseling faculty to take a career assessment.  After you’ve taken the assessment(s) they will meet with you to review and interpret the results, so you can choose a career that fits who you are.

Personal or Academic Concerns

  • Counseling faculty help you learn how to manage stress, build resiliency, find your inner motivation, reduce math anxiety and/or test anxiety and overcome other obstacles to your success in college.

Crisis Response

To meet with counseling faculty about career development or personal/academic concerns, send an email to counseling@gccaz.edu or call our front desk staff at (623) 845-3064. Daily hours are posted under Contact Info on this page. Most appointments will be available remotely via Google Meets. In-person walk-ins and appointments are available on a limited availability basis.
