You Made It Happen at GCC! Through hard work, diligence and perseverance, you have attained a significant milestone in your life - graduation from college. Whether you are continuing with your education or entering the workforce you can be proud of what you have accomplished. We are glad you chose GCC and we wish you well in your future endeavors.
Apply to graduate
Fill out the Online Application for Graduation using the button above to receive your degree or certificate.
- You must apply to receive your degree or certificate, whether or not you plan to participate in commencement ceremonies.
- Apply during the final semester of your degree or certificate program.
- Apply to graduate for each degree/certificate as you complete them if you are completing more than one.
- If you're a current Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honors Society member, please provide your PTK membership ID number
Before filling out your application, please prepare by following these steps:
Step 1: Obtain official transcripts (if needed)
If you are using college or university credits earned outside of MCCCD to meet graduation requirements, your transcripts must be evaluated by GCC. Please visit the GCC Transcripts page for more information.
Step 2: Verify you meet graduation requirements
Check your Degree Progress Report in your Student Center or meet with your advisor. If you have any questions, please contact your advisor.
Step 3: Find your academic plan code
You will be asked to submit your program plan code number and the name of your degree/certificate (including emphasis or track if it has one). If you are not sure, please go to the Degrees & Certificates A-Z list to locate your award.

Next Steps
- A confirmation message will be sent to your student email once your application has been received, including information on the commencement ceremony.
- RSVP to participate in the Commencement Ceremony by April 1st to be included in the program.
- Once your final semester has ended and all grades have been posted, an official graduation evaluation will be processed to determine if you have met all of the qualifications for the requested degree/certificate(s).
- An email communication regarding the status of your application (approved/denied) will be sent to your Maricopa Student Email within five (5) weeks after your final class/semester.
- Diploma and/or certificate(s) will be sent via US Mail within 8 - 10 weeks of being awarded.
