A new semester is starting, and we know you have questions!

We asked our students what they wished they knew when they started at GCC. Here's the advice they had to share.

  • Do NOT take morning classes unless you're a morning person.
  • Read your syllabus!
  • Give yourself some time between classes.
  • Buy a planner!
  • Write colorful notes and buy note cards.
  • Spend more time with tutors and ask your professors for help.
  • Talk to advisors early. Go before open enrollment!
  • It's okay if you switch majors. Find something that you love. The money will follow.
  • Get involved in group study, always ask questions, and seek tutoring when you need it.
