Hi there, my name is Ivy Avanzado. Education is my passion, and I believe in breaking down barriers so every student can chase their dreams and discover their full potential. For over a decade, I’ve had the joy of serving the Maricopa Community College District, including five wonderful years working with DRS students. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and love sharing my knowledge as an adjunct instructor, teaching First Year Experience and Psychology courses. Beyond my professional work, I'm an avid world traveler (I’ve visited 15 countries outside of the U.S.—and counting). Additionally, I find pleasure in tending my backyard vegetable garden and raising chickens with my family. As a proud product of the Maricopa Community Colleges myself, joining GCC as a Recruiter feels like coming full circle. I’m excited to help future students navigate their college journey, from applications to big career decisions, and to cheer them on every step of the way.

Hi, I'm Lizbeth Bueno, and I’m a first-generation college graduate! My own journey inspired me to help others navigate higher education. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Digital Audiences from Arizona State University, after transferring from Phoenix College. I started my career in 2021 as a part-time recruiter at Phoenix College while finishing my degree at ASU. After graduating, I transitioned into full-time recruitment, where I discovered my passion for guiding students through enrollment and empowering them to pursue their goals. Now, I’m excited to bring that experience to Glendale Community College! Whether it’s answering questions, easing concerns, or celebrating milestones, I love being part of students’ academic journeys. When I’m not on campus, you’ll find me traveling (always planning my next adventure!) or writing. I can’t wait to meet you and help make your college experience a great one.

Hi, I’m Douglas Doran, and I’m thrilled to be part of the GCC family! Helping students succeed is what drives me, and I love to bring that passion to our amazing community.

With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration, I’ve spent the past twelve years working in higher education, focusing on student recruitment and enrollment. I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible students and families at both private and public colleges and universities, building strong connections and guiding them on their educational journeys.

What I love most about my work is helping prospective students see their potential and make meaningful changes in their lives. Oh, and I’m currently on a mission to learn Spanish—Duolingo keeps me on my toes almost every day (wish me luck!).
