Dr. Hall has taught Art History at GCC since 1998. Although she initially intended to study law, a fascinating Art History course from an engaging professor changed the trajectory of her life. She received her B.A. in Visual Arts from the University of Northern Colorado and earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Maryland. Before coming to GCC, she taught courses at the Smithsonian Institution, the American University, the University of Maryland, and Trinity College. She was a Museum Fellow in residence at the Phillips Collection (Washington, DC) and a research assistant at the National Gallery of Art; she currently serves as curator of GCC’s Art Collection. For 15 years, she served as advisor to Phi Theta Kappa honor society and was recognized as GCC’s Honors Professor of the Year in 2015. She is a regular lecturer to docents at the Phoenix Art Museum and is currently serving her fourth term as the Governor-appointed Vice Chair of the Arizona Commission on the Arts. She is passionate about her field and loves helping students discover the wonders of human creation.
