Glendale Community College (GCC) was recognized by the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) for achieving the Platinum Level of excellence in worksite wellness. The Healthy Arizona Worksite Award recognizes employers that make strong efforts to positively affect the health and well-being of their employees, their families, and their community by implementing comprehensive worksite wellness strategies. To qualify for the Platinum Level award, employers must provide extraordinary support to employees through health policy and systems changes. Platinum is the highest level that companies and organizations can achieve. This marks the sixth year that GCC has earned this award.
Glendale Community College received this recognition by supporting employee health and implementing programs to create a healthy workplace. "We are incredibly proud of this achievement and accomplishment in supporting the health and wellness of our employees," said Paige Moore, who supervises the Wellness & Fitness programs at GCC. Louise So, Exercise Science Program Director at GCC commented, "It is fantastic that Glendale Community College is recognized by the Arizona Department of Health Services for our wellness work on campus."
