Two students from Glendale Community College have been nominated for the 2026 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - Rocky Mountain Southwest Region, Student Production Awards.

Since 2018, GCC Film and Media Production and Animation students have garnered 25 Rocky Mountain Student Production Award nominations in the categories of Director, Music Video, Writer, Documentary Short Form, Documentary Long Form, Animation, Short Form Fiction, Public Service Announcements, College Magazine Program, and Editing.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - Rocky Mountain Southwest Region, Student Production Awards annual competition receives and judges student work from multiple regional colleges and universities, including Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and Grand Canyon University. This year, GCC is one of two Community Colleges, the other being Scottsdale Community College, to have students get nominated. Judging criteria include creativity, content, and execution, and winners receive a crystal pillar for the originating school and a certificate for nominated production students.
The Student Production Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 19, from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. at Chateau Luxe in Phoenix.
GCC Film and Media Production Program students develop the creative and technical skills needed to work in the competitive film and video industry using the latest technologies to create real-world projects designed to develop their skills and professional work ethic. Comprehensive training in the craft, process, and theory behind visual storytelling is provided and includes coursework that covers all phases of the production process. An Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Film and Media Production is offered, as well as a Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Documentary Film Production.
Glendale Community College provides a Bachelor of Arts degree, 41 associate degrees, 61 certificate programs, and a range of non-degree offerings, including community education classes, all available to students in traditional, online and hybrid formats. Founded in 1965 to serve the northwestern part of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, the college is part of the Maricopa County Community Colleges District, has two campuses and enrolls approximately 26,000 students annually, and employs approximately 1,000 resident faculty, staff, and administrators with an operational budget of $83 million.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) is a professional service organization dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and related media and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry, best known for the coveted Emmy® Award. The Student Production Awards recognize outstanding student achievement in production. The Rocky Mountain Southwest Region includes schools in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and El Centro, California.
