Bio
Biography
Derek has taught Exercise Science and has been the head strength and conditioning coach at GCC since 2016. He received his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Northern Arizona University and earned his Master's degree in Exercise Science from A.T. Still University. Before coming to GCC Derek was a teacher/coach at Millennium High School for 18 years. He has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 2002 earning him Emeritus status with the NSCA.
Derek is very passionate about his field and he feels blessed to be able to work with the future of the industry. Being a former football player and firefighter I, II student at GCC, Derek truly loves working at Glendale Community College.
