Bio
Biography
Dr. Fried has worked at GCC since 2006. He worked as the Head Athletic Trainer from 2006-2015 and taught as adjunct faculty from 2008-2015. In 2015, he became Residential Faculty in the Fitness and Wellness Department. Dr. Fried serves as the Dual Enrollment Supervisor for Sports Medicine Courses as well as the Faculty Champion for the Health Sciences Field of Interest. Dr. Fried earned his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Northern Arizona University, his master’s degree in Sports Health Care from A.T. Still University, and his Ph.D. in Health Promotion and Wellness from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. He also completed EMT training at GCC in 2012.
Dr. Fried formerly taught in the Athletic Training Education Program at Grand Canyon University and he served as a clinical preceptor for athletic training students for both Grand Canyon University and Northern Arizona University. In 2015, he earned the Clinical Preceptor of the Year award from Grand Canyon University and the Tom Lyle Award for Athletic Training Excellence from Northern Arizona University. In 2016, Dr. Fried was named the Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Arizona Athletic Trainers Association. Dr. Fried also works for the National Football League as an Athletic Training (Injury) Spotter.
