Glendale Community College has once again proven to be a launching pad for student-athletes pursuing their athletic and academic dreams. This year's signing class—Cole Carpenter, Konrad Clark, Seth Bohan, and Noah Brezina—followed different paths to success, but each leaves GCC with success and a shared commitment to hard work, perseverance, and continuous growth.

Cole Carpenter’s success came from trusting the process. After discovering a natural gift for sprinting, he developed into one of GCC's top 200- and 400-meter runners, earning the 2026 ACCAC “Male” Track Athlete of the Year. After posting the times coaches said would attract Division I attention, recruiting opportunities were slow to come. Rather than becoming discouraged, Carpenter leaned on his faith, continued working, and earned the opportunity to compete at the University of Arizona. He credits God and GCC coach Brad Fields for helping him develop both as an athlete and as a person.

Konrad Clark's journey began almost by accident. While playing soccer during his senior year of high school, a track coach noticed his speed and invited him to join the team. That opportunity led to a record-setting career at GCC, where Clark established school records in the 300 meters and 400 meters, while helping set records in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. His accomplishments earned him a full scholarship to Arizona State University. Away from the track, Clark is also an accomplished musician, songwriter, pianist, and the author of three children's books, demonstrating the same creativity off the track that he displays on it.

Seth Bohan’s attraction to track and field has always been the challenge. An 800-meter specialist who also competes in the 400 meters and relays, Bohan embraces one of the sport's most demanding events. “I love the 800 because it’s the hardest event,” stated Seth. “Everyone complains about it, but it’s the best event for your head.” After navigating a recruiting process filled with uncertainty, Bohan found a program that genuinely believed in him. He will continue his academic and athletic career at Friends University in Kansas, where he plans to pursue his bachelor's degree while chasing his goal of breaking the 1:50 barrier in the 800 meters. He credits coaches Lee, Phil, and Brad Fields for helping him develop the mindset and work ethic that made the opportunity possible.

Noah Brezina discovered track & field through a simple idea shared with a friend. "We thought one day it would be cool to throw things," Brezina said, "and it ended up being one of my biggest passions."

Competing in the hammer throw, discus, and weight throw, Brezina appreciates the precision, strength, and technique required to succeed. Noah holds GCC Track and Field all-time records for both the Weight Throw and Hammer Throw. He is an All-American and one of the 2026 GCC Academic “Male” Athletes of the Year.

While he is still deciding where he will continue his collegiate career, he credits his high school and GCC coaches for developing his work ethic, consistency, and competitive mindset. He says GCC challenged him academically and athletically while preparing him for whatever opportunity comes next.

Although each athlete's journey has been unique, they all leave Glendale Community College carrying the same lessons: trust the process, stay disciplined, and never stop improving. Whether competing for the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Friends University, or preparing for the next opportunity, Carpenter, Clark, Bohan, and Brezina have built a legacy of resilience and excellence that reflects the best of GCC Track & Field and will inspire the next generation of Gauchos.
