Rio Salado College and Glendale Community College are partnering to bring GED® test preparation classes to the Glendale campus this fall. Students will have the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency (HSE) diploma through the GED® test or other pathways while preparing for in-demand careers.

About 1 in 9 Maricopa County adults have not attained a high school diploma yet, and in five years or less, nearly 80 percent of all job openings will require more than a high school degree. Helping adults earn a high school diploma and gain career skills can significantly boost their chances for further education and better job opportunities, ultimately strengthening the workforce and benefiting the community.

“A high school diploma is transformative, especially in today’s competitive job market,” said Rio Salado College President Kate Smith. “It opens doors to better job prospects, higher-paying careers and access to postsecondary education.”

“We are thrilled to introduce this program to our community,” said Glendale Community College President Tiffany Hernandez. “Combining GED® test preparation with career training not only empowers students but also provides a clear, structured path to future success.

Rio Salado College is Arizona's largest provider of adult education, serving more than 6,000 students annually.
