GCC Photography Student Tyrin Clay earned a Juror’s Choice award from the League for Innovation International Student Art Awards. She won the award for her image titled After Friday Night Lights. The International Student Arts Award is highly competitive. Students must first be accepted into the District's Artist of Promise exhibition to be considered for submission to the League.
The Photo was Taken after a lightly attended high school football game, the image captures both the sadness of the end of the game, but also the happiness of having watched and worked around it.
Students currently enrolled in for-credit art classes at League board colleges are eligible to enter the competition. Entries must be original works of art created during enrollment in college.
The Juror’s Choice award has a cash prize in addition to the artwork published in the League's Student Art Competition catalog
The League for Innovation in the Community College International Student Art Awards competition, now in its 38th year, provides an opportunity for students at League board colleges to compete with their peers across North America and showcases a selection of the best works being created by today’s community college students.
