GCC wins big in Artists of Promise competition

It’s what every artist strives for, recognition of their craft and knowing that their work has impressed, impacted, and moved others. And now 18 Glendale Community College (GCC) students have received that validation at the 2021 Maricopa Community College’s Artists of Promise awards. The annual recognition and exhibition honors the Chancellor’s Award Winners of the Maricopa Community Colleges' student competitions in creative writing, dance/choreography, film/media arts, music composition, music instrumental, music vocal, theater design, theater performance and visual arts.

The 18 GCC Students earned 22 awards and recognition at this year’s competition - the largest number of awards of all the MCCCD colleges. GCC students won in the following categories; Film-Media Arts - Animation, Documentary/Nonfiction, Film Media Arts - Narrative/Fiction, Music - Composition, Music - Instrumental - Piano, Music - Instrumental - Guitar, Theatre - Performance/Acting - Male, Visual Art - 2D, League entry, and, Visual Art - 2D, Place Piece in Exhibition.
