Pardon Our Dust – Big Things are Happening
You might have noticed a lot of unusual activity in the Northeast corner of campus. One of the I-buildings was demolished to make way for what is currently being referred to as the GCC Innovation Lab. The groundbreaking took place on April 29th. Wielding shovels and donning hard hats were; Tiffany Hernandez, Augustine Erpelding, Elena Beltran, Susan Campbell and Lore Carvajal.
The Innovation Lab will allow GCC to support and expand programs like engineering technology, robotics, automation, drones, computer science, data analysis, AI, woodworking, and fabrication. The facility will include a Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality Classroom and Lab, a computer lab, and a workshop outfitted with equipment such as table saws, band saws, CNC routers, lathes, mills, laser cutters, drills, 3D printers, and two welding stations.
Wish You Were Here…GeoClub Spring Break Road Trip
Members of the GCC GeoClub went on a Spring Break adventure to White Sands National Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Whitewater Canyon, and a few other destinations in New Mexico. They were kind enough to share some photos from their most excellent adventure.
