Whether you're Indigenous or an ally, wear moccasins or any footwear symbolizing support for Native communities, and share your story on social media. Use the hashtag #RockYourMocs and tag @GCCAZ.
For non-Native allies, wear something turquoise and share a photo or video using #RockYourMocsSolidarity.
Need something Turquoise? Visit the Leadership Center (SU-123) to pick up a turquoise ribbon to show your support for Native peoples' fight for justice and recognition.

In her talk, Connections to Holistic Material: Native Culture Today & Tomorrow, Ms. Hart Stevens will share stories and insights focusing on water, land, and the environmental challenges facing Native communities. The presentation will also examine the deep connection between the health of the natural world and the cultural survival of Indigenous peoples, highlighting ways individuals and communities can contribute to the protection of both.

Red Shawl Day is an annual national effort to bring attention to acts of violence committed against Indigenous People.
Ways to Help Raise Awareness
- Wear a red shawl or red clothing on the day and week of Red Shawl Day
- Report suspicious activities when visiting public lands to local law enforcement.
- Being aware, and spreading awareness of this issue can save lives
- Join the conversation on social media using #RedShawlDay and #NPSIndigenous
