  • Pilar Ramos, a graduate of the Biotechnology program, was the lead scientist on a study at TGen that has uncovered the genetic basis of a rare form of ovarian cancer (SCCOHT). SCCOHT mostly afflicts girls and young women. She and her research team have revealed a striking correlation between mutations of the SMARCA4 gene and this form of ovarian cancer. It is hoped that identifying this genetic relationship will lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment of SCCHOT This work has been published in the prestigious journal Nature Genetics

  • Another biotechnology student success story! Read all about Stephanie Schumaker's seamless transfer from GCC to ASU West. She has a promising career ahead thanks to our unique institutional partnership. (Stories about other biotechnology alumni can be found here).

  • IN THE NEWS:
  • Partnership with ASU West allows GCC Biotech students a seamless transition to a bachelor's degree. GCC Alums, Stephanie Schumaker and Debbie Healey (see profiles above) are following this degree pathway.

  • Students - All college announcements are sent to your Maricopa Google e-mail account. To forward these messages to an email account you check regularly, click here for instructions or here for a short video tutorial.
