Technology Resources
GCC has various technology resources available for your use. Some of these include:
High Tech Center (HTC)
The High Tech Center (HTC) is home to the Student HelpDesk, to the production facilities of the The Voice, to the campus network infrastructure, to the college Writing Center, as well as computerized classrooms and faculty offices. At its core is a support staff consisting of instructions technicians and student associates who provide client support services to users of the facility. Under an open-lab concept, assistance with software application programs is given to those who are registered in various open-entry/selp-paced, flex computer classes and students working on assignment from any course in curriculum which may be enhanced by the use of a computer.
For more information, please visit the HTC website at http://www.gccaz.edu/htc/.
Technology Helpdesk, Student Helpdesk branch
The Student Helpdesk branch of the Technology Helpdesk primarily serves to assist both students and faculty experiencing trouble accessing our technological resources. Available every weekday of campus operation, the Student Helpdesk also produces documentation that explains the technological resources below, in form of written text (found at the Student Helpdesk website) and self-running tutorials (see the Online Tutorials website).
For more information, please visit the Student Helpdesk website and the Online Tutorials website.
eGCC Accounts
Every student enrolled in credit classes at GCC has an eGCC account. This eGCC Account grants access to course-related software, internet browsers, email, a standard suite of tools and a wide range of other resources accessible on campus.
If you're off-campus, you can still access your H: and S: Drives by following the instructions we have on our Working Off Campus section.
To get started or lean more, please visit the Student Helpdesk website's section on eGCC Accounts at http://web.gccaz.edu/studenthelpdesk/palette.html.
Student Email Accounts
Every student with an eGCC Account gets a Student Email Account, and that email address looks like: eGCCUsername@student.gc.maricopa.edu
All you need to do is get your eGCC Username, and change your eGCC Password from your Student ID Number to something else - otherwise, your Student Email Account will be inaccessible.
For more details on how to activate and use your Student Email account, please visit the Student Helpdesk Website at http://web.gccaz.edu/studenthelpdesk/email.html.
