Requesting a Technology Acquisition

Academic Toner

The following is the process for requesting toner for academic lab or classroom use for the Glendale campus. If an office or department is in need of toner please see the Office/Department Toner Request Procedure.

1. Call the GCC Technology Help Desk* (53555) to request a toner cartridge for the classroom or lab. Please provide the following information to the Help Desk:

  • Lab/Classroom location (include pod# and/or station#)
  • Type of printer
  • Toner type (if known)

2. The GCC Technology Help Desk will create a work order for a Technician to install toner. The work order will include the following information:

  • Lab/Classroom location (include pod# and/or station#)
  • Type of printer
  • Toner type (if known)
  • Requester

3. The Technician will pick up the work order and verify the printer needs toner.

4. Technician will go to SPS-57A to enter toner request on the academic toner log with the following information; the following is required before the toner leaves the room:

  • Date
  • Work order number
  • Requester
  • Lab/Classroom location (include pod# and/or station#)
  • Type of toner to be installed
  • Quantity of toner being installed
  • Date toner request was completed
  • Academic Technician’s name
  • Page Count

5. When the toner log entry is complete, the Technician can obtain the toner needed for the toner installation.

6. Technician installs the new toner and takes the old toner cartridge to the OIT Technicians Area.

7. Technician will close the work order.
