Federal lawsuit against Sheriff Joe Arpaio

The federal government wants to know whether the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office discriminates against people of Hispanic origin.

At least that's the thrust of an unprecedented civil-rights lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Justice seeking court-ordered access to MCSO records that may shed light on alleged discrimination in law-enforcement practices and jail operations..

A night that could have ended in tragedy

What started out being a night of fun almost ended up as the worst night of Corbin Jones' life.

Last year while attending an innocent going away party, one of our students here at Glendale Community College, Corbin Jones, was shot. Jones, by the way not only has a 4.0 grade point average, but also plays football for the Gauchos.
