Lis Doon Varna is one of the newest Irish Pubs to hit the west side of Phoenix. Although slightly higher priced, the authenticity can't be beat, and promises to be a hot spot on March 17.

Remember: drink responsibly and have a designated driver – nothing ruins a good time like a D.U.I.

R.T. O'Sullivan's – Located at 59th Ave. & Bell Rd.

This bar advertises "Irish Hospitality With a Flair For Fun," and promises to deliver just that on St. Patrick's Day. R.T. O'Sullivan's will host a Parking Lot Party on the big day, complete with an outdoor stage, several disc jockeys, Irish step-dancers, leprechauns, bagpipers and headlining act the Funk Junkies. Drink specials include a 20 oz. green beer for $4, a 20 oz. Guinness for $6 and a 20 oz. Killian's Red for $5.

Padre Murphy's – Located at 43rd Ave. & Bell Rd.

Padre Murphy's website has a running countdown to St. Patrick's Day and proudly lists the entertainment that will be provided that day – from leprechauns and clowns to face painters and bagpipers. Five bands have been booked to play throughout the day. Traditional Irish favorites like corned beef and cabbage and soda bread will be served alongside the ubiquitous green beer, Guinness and Killian's, each $5 a pint.

Lis Doon Varna – Located at Arrowhead Fountains Center by Peoria Sports Complex

This authentic pub was designed and built on the Emerald Isle before being disassembled and shipped to Peoria. Lis Doon Varna's menu is full of classic Irish dishes like corned beef and cabbage, boxty and bangers and mash (most entrees are around $12.95). They also serve $5 pints of Smithwick's, Harp and Guinness and eschew the green beer, claiming it is not authentic. After 5:00 p.m. no one under 21 will be admitted.

McDuffy's – Located at Arrowhead Fountains Center by Peoria Sports Complex

Although not a traditional Irish pub, McDuffy's does pull out all the stops for St. Patrick's Day. Drink specials, including green beer, start at $2. Jameson and Bushmill's shots are $6 each.
