Metrocenter makeover

The Metrocenter mall is trying to make a comeback, economically, by adding new tenants and replacing two anchor stores.
Michael Fisher, a senior property manager of the Metrocenter mall, explains that you always keep on top of the changing demographics.
Fisher also went ahead to explain that the vacant stores seen around the mall belong to the City of Phoenix Economic Development department.
After Wastcor took the mall over from the partnership with the Simon Property Group, they have been taking action on reducing the heavy car theft that has hurt the Metrocenter's success in the past.
In November 2007 the mall was infiltrated with the installation of security cameras to further aid in keeping the crime factor at an all time low for the Metrocenter mall.
About crime at Metrocenter, Fisher stated that the continuous effort with graffiti around the entire city and the state. The mall is trying to keep clean.
In early 2000, the mall was host to a skate park that proved to be a valuable asset at the time at.
Three years later as the skate park became less popular the mall replaced in with a Sports Chalet store.
Fisher explained that ten years from now Metrocenter mall will be different and valuable in different ways.
