Stage your own professional photos for the holiday
By Alecia RanereReporter, The VOICE
It's that time of the year again, where family members are sending you a professional picture of their newcomer to the family.
Many people might not like getting professional photos taken because of the backgrounds they offer, props they give you, the way they direct you to pose, the prices of the packages where the only one you can afford has 2 wallet sizes, or the overall stress of the long line, and photographer trying to get your baby to laugh only to make him or her cry. This holiday season you are in luck. If you have a digital camera you are all set!
All you need to do is find a background. Try to make sure the background matches the clothing you are wearing and compliments you instead of taking away from what you want others to focus on, the model. When that is decided on, choose the wardrobe, depending on who you are taking a picture of and who you are taking a picture for, for example if you are a girl taking a picture for your boyfriend and want to show off your legs, a knee cut dress and heels will do the trick. If your baby is the model and you're sending the photos to family something cute and simple like a nice dress or nice overalls for a boy will do just fine. This is a great way to bring out the creative side of you for all to see.
The next step is to focus on poses, lighting, and angles, know your models angle! For example some people look better if they tilt their head. Make sure the room you are taking photos in isn't too bright nor too dark, to avoid shadows and glows.
Last but not least take your photos to the nearest Walgreens and edit them using the software provided.
You can add borders, take out red eye, and add text.
You can also place the photos on some cool gifts including playing cards, and coffee mugs!
Your family and friends will love the gift and you will enjoy the experience.
