Alice Cooper serves up "Christmas Pudding"

By Dominic Giorgianni
Freelance Reporter, The VOICE

When you hear the words, "Christmas" and "pudding," you would think of a tasty holiday dish.

You certainly don't think of Alice Cooper, the rocker from the 70's who was an alcoholic, wrote touching songs like "Only Women Bleed" and "Dead Babies," – just to name a few.

Today, he's the celebrity golfer and restaurateur that still dresses like it's Halloween all year long with a surprisingly big heart of gold. His non-traditional Christmas classic is back and, "Alice Cooper's Christmas Pudding" has become a monster hit with the community.

In its eighth year, this variety show brings some of the best local talent, big names in Phoenix and in the United States together for an evening of music, comedy, dance, and delectable theatrics for the masses. Iron Chef winner, Mark Tarbell, will treat show goers to a real Christmas pudding dish, with some crowd favorites like Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Robby Krieger of the Doors, and, of course, the great Alice Cooper performing his greatest hits.

This show is one to mark on the calendars.

Christmas Pudding is going to be held at Dodge Theater on December 13th. It benefits The Solid Rock Foundation, Alice Cooper's non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and teenagers via music and recreation.

Just think, you can do your part of making peoples lives a little better and satisfying the rock in your soul even during an economic crisis just by attending.

The proceeds from this show are going right back into the community. Concert lineup and ticket prices are available at http://www.alicepudding.com
