Pros for Obama's win could bring country together

By Michelle Tabatabai-Shahab
Reporter, The VOICE

President-elect Barack Obama is the answer to the hopes of the American people as well as the world.

We cannot afford to live in country that doesn't learn from the mistakes of the past.

George Bush dug the grave for America, but Obama refuses to succumb to falling in.

If John McCain had won the presidency it would have run the risk of going from bad to worse with the current fiscal crisis. We couldn't risk four years of accomplishing nothing. McCain and Bush were birds of feather with most of Bush's failed policies.

We just can't afford to have another Republican in office right now. It had to be a Democrat, it had to be now, and it had to be Obama.

Think about it, the economy is collapsing like a deck of cards, and the business that come out on top when this crisis ends are the elite businesses. We have to rebuild our economy from the ground up and the process isn't looking pretty.

Republicans have a standoffish way of dealing with the economy, which is to let it work itself out. We need help out here. Who's going to assist the American people in getting back on their feet? A Democrat like Obama is the president to trust when life gives you lemons and you don't have the sugar to make lemonade.

Choosing Joe Biden as his vice president was certainly the best chose for the position. Biden has been in the Senate for nearly 30 years and has a track record for foreign policy expertise.

Obama is strong on domestic affairs but when it comes to making foreign decisions it's comforting to know that he has Biden to consult.

Without a doubt, Obama will surround himself with an elite administration. With the first move Obama makes in office, anybody that doubted his patriotism, qualifications and his ability to restore America will be proven wrong. For the good of the country let's hope that Obama does put outspoken ignorance to rest once and for all.
