Ron Elsensohn, a music major, and Dion Hinojosa, a computer programming major at GCC, have recently developed "The R and D Show."
"From the moment we met, we knew we were naturally funny together and when random people would just show up and sit at our table just to hear us go back and forth, we knew we had something people wanted to hear" stated Elsensohn.
The unique duo plans to discuss topics such as campus events, GCC sports, relationships, news headlines, professional sports, and issues that effect the GCC community.
At the same time, they hope to add a humorous slant to their discussions, hoping to keep listeners interested.
"Hopefully they will laugh and enjoy themselves for the small amount of time they spend listening to our show…" Elsensohn added.
Much effort goes into running a typical show of this type. They're always scouring the web looking for eye-catching news stories and discussion topics to use for the show.
In addition, sound effects are important to include, such as movie clips and so on. The two also plan to get out into the halls of the campus to learn what issues are affecting the students the most.
While "The R and D Show" is still in its early stages, the crew hopes to expand it into something much bigger. Soon, the show hopes to be broadcast right from the GCC campus.
Currently, the show is accessed through MySpace, available to anybody interested. Also, a MySpace account is not required to listen.
