Situated on the northwest corner of 51st Ave. and Northern Gold Tooth Tattoo has opened its doors. Owned by the same man who owns Bright Ideas Tattoo in Avondale, Ricky Nolan is proud of this sister shop.
"The name for Gold Tooth tattoo comes from that I have a gold tooth, so I always thought that would be a good name for a tattoo shop," says Nolan.
The shop itself is very clean, comfortable and has a very modest design to it. There are basic tattoo designs to flip through and plenty of Artists portfolios to help suit all tattoo and piercing needs.
Nolan says, "I think when they come in and look at the shop and see how clean it is, how friendly everybody is, and then look at the portfolios, a shop should have very limited flash, because a majority of the stuff should all be custom work. You don't want a tattoo that a hundred people are running around with."
The very talented artists on hand include, Matt, Jake, Mike TV, Jessica, Tim, Richard, and two piercers Robert and Joey. They are all very sociable and are more than qualified to help anyone with their tattoo or piercing needs.
The shop will be offering Glendale Community College (GCC) students a 10 percent discount with their GCC student ID, and with the college right around the corner, students can find an affordable tattoo or piercing that they can love forever.
"Shop minimum is $60 and goes from there on sleeves, back pieces, would be an hourly rate. On average tattoos you're looking at $60 to a $150 depending on what it is, detail, color or black and gray, where it's going. There are a lot of variables as far as price goes," says Nolan.
The shop is open Mondays through Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call Gold Tooth Tattoo at (623) 847-8488.
