Many allegations of voter fraud have being voiced before the 2008 Presidential election has been completed.
The accusations of interference range from new I.D. requirements to the threat of Martial Law.
The claim of voter fraud has been bandied about regarding the 2000 and even the 2004 presidential elections for years.
There are people concerned about the 2008 election being stolen. Already, incidents are happening that would set up roadblocks to being able to vote freely. Republicans and Democrats seem to be guilty alike.
These examples show that voter fraud is widespread and comes in many forms. The Secretary of State's of all the states need to tighten up their rules, and overseeing procedures to ensure that every person's vote is counted.
Voter fraud is a crime against democracy itself.
-Requiring proof of citizenship is just one of the new obstacles to voting that has been appearing across the country. Indiana is one of the many states suggesting a tough new photo ID requirement. Democrats protest that it would prevent eligible voters from casting a ballot. In last week’s Indiana primary, a group of about 12 nuns in their 80s and 90s were prevented from voting because, they lacked acceptable ID, according to MSNBC.
-The Ohio Republicans accused Democratic Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, for rejecting thousands of McCain voters because of a printing technicality on an application for absentee ballots sent out to prospective voters. This according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.
-According to The Colorado Springs Gazette, the U.S. Northern Command has amassed 4,000 soldiers to respond to a national emergency. Left wing conspiracy theorists believe that the state of the economy will result in a run on the bank and Marshal Law will be instituted. The contention is that this could be the first step towards Bush canceling the election.
-The community organizing group (ACORN), acoknowledged Tuesday that there has been voter registration fraud this year. “Yes, we know there’s been fraud. With a staff of some 13,000 canvassers, there will be some bad apples in the bunch,” an ACORN official said at a news conference, according to Fox News.
