On Sept. 12, Glendale Community College (GCC) and the Glendale community where in attendance for Gypsy Jazz, a concert which ranged in musical stylings. A majority of the songs that were played the audience knew from various places.
The Physical Arts Center (PAC) at GCC was packed by 7:40 pm just ten minutes after the doors opened.
The audience was like a painting, with the different races coming together to enjoy a harmonious night of music.
While the audience waited patiently for the night's performance a call for open seats went out more than a few times. Arms were send flying out with fingers fully extended indicating how many seats were open next to them.
The groups of people in the audience were diverse. Families and couples came to spend quality time together. Some people came with friends and some came alone. But all came to enjoy the preformances and the surronding environment.
The mixing of Chuck Hulihan from the Department of Guitars at GCC on guitar, Armand Ramirez on stand up bass, and GCC Alumni Ryan Vance who was also on guitar rounded out the trio better known as Hot Club of Phoenix (HCP).
Theresa Hulihan playing the flute joined the trio on stage a few songs before intermission.
After intermission Albuquerque, New Mexicos' own Le Chat Lunatique (LCL) joined HCP on stage exciting the audience more.
HCP and LCL received several rounds of standing ovations throughout the night. They were enthusiastically clapped for by the audience even before the curtain went up.
