Here's to all the students who have sat through class and thought they understood what the teacher was saying and when they went to do their homework they froze up.

Center For Learning is one place on campus where students can get help for reading and writing projects.

If this has happened to you (and it probably has unless you're some kind of genius) it's one of the most frustrating feelings a student can face. Have no fear, there is help all over campus.

One of the most feared subjects may be math for some students for some it's science and others it's language arts. Luckily there are tutoring centers with student or teacher tutors volunteering their time to help students with their classes.

A general place to go to get help with general subjects would be to go to the Center for Learning. They're located across from the Language Arts building and they provide tutoring, computer labs and study tips. On Fridays they are open as late as 1 a.m. and open at 8 a.m. every day.

Students can make appointments for The Writing Center to talk with faculty members in the HT2 building. Faculty will meet with the student for 30 minutes where any piece of writing can be analyzed. Students can also get help with resumes, study skills and essay prewriting. There is also help for writers on the web at http://www.gc.maricopa.edu/ewc where a student submits an essay and a faculty member will email back suggestions, comments and corrections within about 48 hours.

Is a place where students can get help with math solutions

The Math Solution Center can be a lifesaver for numerically challenged students or students in such high math that nobody but the math center can help them. They carry every math book known to the campus and also lend out calculators. All a student has to do is raise their hand if they get stuck on a math problem and a tutor will go over it. There can be a wait for a tutor but it's never too long.

Other areas of struggle may be astronomy, geology, chemistry, physics, and physical sciences. The Physical Science building is equipped to help with any of these areas of study.

Next time that evil homework problem is staring you down, don't back down, don't run, don't hide, don't cry! Just take it to Glendale Community College's tutoring places and let them help you tackle it.
