$10,000 a day?

Out-of-Towners are loony if they think hotels are still available the week of the Super Bowl here. Every single place from upscale hotels to sleazy motel rooms sold out months ago. The solution for the projected 150,000 Super Bowl visitors to find a place is to rent out the homes of residents nearby and they will do it at almost any cost.
According to http://www.superweekrentals.com, a website that helps renters find homes and allows residents to put up their homes for rent, people are charging thousands of dollars a day. People are even renting out their apartments for a few thousand. Residents are sweetening the deals by leaving their cars for the Super Bowl flockers, so they won't have to rent one when they get here. Other places are offering amenities such as maid service, catering/bartending, pet walkers and tour guides. They also come with pricey security deposits to cover any damages that occur.
Police say; don't call them when things go wrong in the rental agreement. In order to rent one must have a specific contract in order for it to be covered under the law.
One of the best ways a homeowner can protect themselves is to hire a realtor to set up a renter, and all documents and legal aspects should be covered and that way a homeowner will know they are safe. "People will try to make money any way possible, many are cutting realtors out of deals," says Realtor Ricardo E. Gonzales, Licensed Realtor. Sacrificing a realtor percentage can have some very negative consequences.
Phoenix is expected to throw one of the biggest parties our town has ever seen in order to pump money into the economy, which means there will be an inordinate number of drunken football fans living in other people's homes for a week. Are Phoenix residents ready to handle the amount of damage that could ensue from that?
Many don't think so. "These people don't care about any of your stuff and I just don't want to imagine strangers in my house," says Shannon Crawford, Arizona State University student.
Others are more than happy to make some quick cash and flee the chaos for the week.
Any students or homeowners interested in renting out their property can post for free on websites such as Craig's List or MySpace and there are plenty of other sites that will let a resident post for a fee.
