Super Bowl committee looking for volunteers

If you are a sports fan and a civic minded individual there is a golden opportunity to participate in a historic event. The 42nd Super Bowl, Feb. 3, 2008, the first Superbowl to be held in the new University of Phoenix Stadium, needs your help.
One of the duties of the Arizona Super Bowl XLII Host Committee is to generate awareness about the Super Bowl volunteer opportunities and recruit, train and schedule almost. 10,000 volunteers, the last day to apply is Dec.10, 2007. The variety of activities that volunteers will participate includes hospitality, transportation, special events and more.
Some of the volunteer positions are the:
NFL Experience
Volunteers will assist with the management and supervision of interactive football games and displays.
NFL and Host Committee Special Events
Volunteers will provide an enthusiastic welcome to guests attending special events, check credentials, give guest direction and assist with event operations, as needed.
Command Center
Volunteers will respond to questions received on the volunteer hotline, call volunteers regarding their shifts, perform data entry and distribute volunteer materials.
Transportation Guide
Volunteers will greet members of the media at hotels and direct them to appropriate Media Center shuttles.
Hotel Information Desk
Volunteers will provide an enthusiastic welcome to guests via friendly smiles and helpful question-answering at the various NFL hotels.
Some of the qualities that are very important for a volunteer are being dependable; enthusiastic and flexible. Volunteers must be 18, and must complete the official Arizona Super Bowl XLII Host Committee volunteer application. A valid driver's license may be used as proof of age. Volunteers must agree to background check required by the NFL. Volunteer opportunities will be provided on an equal basis without regard to age, sex, race, religion or disability.
No game tickets will be made available to volunteers. No volunteer opportunities are available inside the University of Phoenix Stadium on game day.
