Club Funding

General Information

Important Note: ALL funds must be deposited to the GCC Cashier's office within one (1) business day following an event or fund-raising activity. ALL deposits must have a completed Fund-Raising Request Form in order to be deposited. Funds may be held in the GCC Business Services Office safe with permission until paperwork is finished or total amount is ready for deposit.
Associated Student Government (ASG) Request For Funds
ASG provides funds for student organizations and clubs within proscribed guidelines.
(*Application Form Required)

Cash Boxes and Start Up Banks
Cash boxes can be checked out with a petty cash form at the GCC Cashiers windows either with or without a start-up bank. The Petty Cash form must be filled out and signed with the amount of the desired start-up funds or with just a zero $ amount. The start-up funds, proceeds, and/or cash box are returned at the end of the sale.

Club Sales
Raising funds together as a club is not just about making money, it's a great opportunity for working together as a team and having fun. There are three weeks a semester that clubs can hold sales on campus. See the Calendar of Events for dates.

Ideas for sales include:

T-shirts, flowers, greeting cards, discount booklets, art items, jewelry, drawings (i.e. raffles: restrictions apply, see section below), and the ever popular bake sales (all food must be from a commercial kitchen and pre-wrapped).
Depositing Funds
ALL funds raised or donated must be deposited with the GCC Cashier's Office. The Student Leadership Center will keep records of all the club/organization funds.

Donations
Occasionally, a club may receive a donation of funds or goods, usually, for a special project. If some one is giving you funds, you must still process a Fund-Raising Request Form before making a deposit. Funds must be deposited to the GCC Business Service's office. Donations of goods must be processed with a GCC Donor Information Form available from the Student Leadership Center. Please note that monetary donations to your group and/or the college are not tax deductible.

Donor Information Form
Any time a club or student organization receives a donation, the Donor Information Form must be filled out and submitted to the Student Leadership Center.

Dues
Some organizations use dues to provide funds. If your student organization chooses to do so, the amount and frequency of collection must be reflected in the organization's constitution.
