ASG Awards &
Recognition Policy
This policy establishes guidance to officially recognize students, faculty members, and staff for their support to the Associated Student Government. Three main recognition levels will exist: thank-you letters, certificates, and plaques. Thank you letters and certificates can be awarded on the spot after an event has been completed; however, plaques are only awarded annually at the end-of-the-year ASG banquet. First, thank you letters may be awarded for significantly participated in an event on campus or a project that is very time consuming. At the end of year, ASG will assimilate a list of all faculty members and staff who participated in ASG events and formally acknowledge their accomplishments by sending a thank you letter to the administration signed by the ASG executive board. Secondly, certificates can be awarded for the significant accomplishments of students as well as faculty members for aid in specific events held during the college academic year. Certificates also will be used to recognize the accomplishments of ASG members who have participated in ASG for only one semester and have significantly participated in at least one committee during the semester or academic school year that he/she was involved. In addition, they cannot have missed more than three regularly-scheduled ASG Business Meetings. Lastly, the awarding of plaques will be reserved for the individuals whom are students, faculty members, or staff who have significantly promoted or supported ASG activities. Plaques will be awarded annually for their accomplishments and will be presented at the end of year banquet. For an ASG Member to qualify for a plaque at the end-of-the-year banquet, he or she must have significantly participated on a minimum of three committees and not accumulated over three regularly-scheduled ASG open business meetings throughout the academic school year. In order for a faculty or staff member to receive a plaque, the individual must have significantly supported ASG during the academic school year. Any deviation from this policy must be referred to the ASG Rules Committee, which will make a recommendation on the issue for a majority vote at an open business meeting. Effective July 1, 2007 |
