This class is preparation for the State of Arizona armed security guard certification. It includes firearm safety, firearm nomenclature, legal aspects of firearm usage, basic marksmanship, and live fire qualification.

• Four basic firearm safety rules
• Firearm nomenclature - mechanical safeties of handguns
• Legal use of deadly force and threatening deadly force
• Basics of marksmanship and safe gun handling
• Sufficient firearm proficiency required by the State of Arizona for security guard

Cost: The class is one (1.0) credit hour and there is a $25 lab fee. If you are not registered for a class at GCC, there is also a $15 registration fee.

Format: Two, 8-hour days of classroom and range time. Current semester classes are offered on Monday-Tuesday.
