GCC’s Scholarship Opportunities

GCC offers a variety of scholarships. Opportunities depend on major or degree program, ethnicity, financial need, interests, GPA, and among other criteria. Many of our scholarships are available through Academic Works. Individual GCC Scholarships are posted online as they become available, so check the site often as dates vary for each scholarship.

Scholarship Spotlight

Name & Award Details

Nina Mason Pulliam Scholarship


Award: Covers full tuition, fees, books, $3,200 annual living allowance and provides each student with an academic advisor mentor.

Available throughout the Maricopa County Community Colleges. Available to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Apply online

Deadline: March 1, annually.


  • Raised in the Child Welfare System, or
  • Have a Physical Disability, or
  • Age 25 or older with dependents?

Name & Award Details

American Association of University Women (AAUW) Northwest Valley Branch 2018 Academic Scholarship 


Award: $1000 per semester

Available to students at GCC and renewable for two additional years for sophomores, juniors, and seniors.


Complete scholarship application, and submit to the address on the application.


Deadline: March 22, 2018



GCC Departmental Scholarship Opportunities

Several academic departments at GCC offer scholarships. Award amounts and criteria vary and scholarships are usually restricted to students majoring in a particular academic discipline. Each academic division is responsible for awarding these scholarships. Please contact the department directly for information about the application process.

ACE Scholarship applications are accepted during the month of November.
Adapted PE Visit the Adapted PE Office (FW) for information and assessment.

Honors Program & President’s Scholarship Available scholarships 
Performing Arts Both majors and non-majors are encouraged to apply for scholarships in Music, Theatre, and Dance. The scholarship amount is based on current course load, specifically the number of Performing Arts classes being taken, and performance ability. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship contact the director of your discipline (Theatre Arts & FilmDanceBandChoirJazzPercussionGuitar, or Piano.)

GCC Transfer Scholarships

Online applications accepted through Academicworks.

Also, be sure to contact the Financial Aid or Scholarship Office of the institution you are transferring to, and ask about available scholarships. Here are just a few: Arizona State UniversityGrand Canyon UniversityNorthern Arizona University and the University of Arizona.

Name & Award Details

English/Journalism Teaching Scholarship

Award: $650

GCC Student majoring in English or Journalism, must enroll in and successfully complete a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester, and must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA.

GCC Alumni Endowment Transfer Scholarship

Award: $250-$500

GCC graduate or transfer student, 3.25 GPA, and completion of 30 credit hours at GCC

Leland & Nancy Stanley Scholarship

Award: Up to $1000

Scholarship Criteria:

-Must be a graduate of GCC (Verified by Admissions & Records)

-Must be at least 23, at time of application (submit government photo ID)

-Submit proof of having been admitted to Arizona State University or Northern Arizona University

Preference will be given to students that meet any of the following:

-Participated in the athletic program at GCC (submit letter from coach, verifying participation)

-Served as active military a minimum of two years (attach copy of DD214 or other proof of service)

-A graduate of Wickenburg High School (provide year of graduation)

-Demonstrate financial need

-Demonstrate volunteer service

Diane H. Thomas Scholarship for GCC Alumni

Award: Up to $10,000

A GCC graduating student, 3.0 GPA, transferring to an accredited four-year college or university for the upcoming academic year and demonstrating financial need.
