2. Public Safety
The Public Safety Department provides for the security and safety of the campus community. The department is based in the CS building on the south edge of campus (see location on map). The Public Safety Department is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The telephone number is (623) 845-3535, or on campus extension 53535.
The department's staff consists of a Director, three Certified Police Officers, a Public Safety Officer, two dispatchers, two administrative support personnel, approximately 20 Public Safety Guards, and a Safety Compliance Technician. The Police Officers are empowered with the authority to make arrests and conduct investigations. The Public Safety Department also maintains a cooperative working relationship with the Glendale Police Department and will request assistance as needed.
