2. Campus Safety
The Public Safety Department provides for the security and safety of the campus community. The department is based in the CS building on the south edge of campus (http://www.gc.maricopa.edu/index/campus.cfm?see=College_Safetysee location on map). The CSD is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The telephone number is (623) 845-3535, or on campus extension 53535.
The department's staff consists of a Director, three Certified Police Officers, a College Safety Officer, two dispatchers, two administrative support personnel, approximately 20 College Safety Guards, and a Safety Compliance Technician. The Police Officers are empowered with the authority to make arrests and conduct investigations. The CSD also maintains a cooperative working relationship with the Glendale Police Department and will request assistance as needed.
