Furniture Services

All requests for new furniture, repairs/replacement of existing furniture, and requests to surplus furniture are processed through the Procurement department.

New Furniture

If your department has a furniture need that was not addressed in the budget process or arises after budget requests are submitted (we call these "off cycle" requests), you may submit a Furniture Request Form. Your Request will be reviewed and you will be contacted for a consultation. Please provide a complete description of the furniture needed and identify the budget source and account number that will be used for the purchase. If your department does not have budget available for a furniture purchase, you will need to consult with your Vice President to locate available funding. If you have additional documentation to provide with your request, please e-mail it to the GCC Procurement Office.

Moves

Please submit a Furniture Move Form. Please provide a complete description of the item(s) that need to be moved. You will be contacted to schedule a time for the move.

Repairs

Please submit a Furniture Repair Form. Please provide a complete description of the item that needs to be repaired. You will be contacted to schedule a time for the repair. Please specify if the broken item is a safety hazard. These items will take priority over other repair requests.

Surplus

If you have broken or unwanted furniture that you want picked up from your department, please complete the Surplus Request Form. You will be contacted to schedule a time for pick-up. If you have tagged furniture, please have a Property/Transfer Disposal Form ready at the time of pick-up. Once a surplus item has been picked up from your area, it is non-returnable. Please do not send an e-mail to all GCC advertising free furniture. The inventory process needs to be enforced.

Stand-By List

Do you need furniture, but do not have the budget to purchase new furniture? Are you looking for a file cabinet, desk, or bookshelf? If so, you can add your name to the Stand-By List. As unwanted furniture is picked up and placed in storage, we will contact you if we see an item that we think you might be interested in. Please submit a Stand-By Request Form to request items.
