Theresa Hulihan holds a Bachelor of music in flute performance from Central Washington State University where she studied with Dr. Hal Ott, and a Master of Music in Flute Performance from Arizona State University where she studied with Dr. Trygve Peterson. She has been described as having "flawless techniques, perfect intonation, and a sensitivity to nuance that equal or surpass the top artists on the concert circuit." She has trained at the Marrowstone Music Festival and the Olympic Music Festival, performed in The Seattle Civic Light Opera Company, and The Port Angeles Symphony. Theresa has directed flute choirs for the Arizona Flute Society, instructed flute at St. Mary's High School and the Place Music Academy and conducted bands at the Arizona School for the Arts. Currently Theresa is the Flute Instructor at Glendale Community College. She also teaches flute at Rosie's House, her private studio in Glendale and is the Band Director for the Osborn School District. Theresa is currently a board member of the Arizona Flute Society. She is also a member of the National Flute Association, Chamber Music America, National Association for Music Educators, American Music Center, and the American Composers Forum. Since 1995 Theresa has performed in Duozona with her husband, guitarist Chuck Hulihan. As a duo, they have studied with flutists Ransom Wilson and Trygve Peterson, guitarists Frank Koonce and Sharon Isbin, and oboist Martin Schuring. They have performed around the U.S., with appearances at the Wood Flute Festival in Washington, Seattle Guitar Society, American Mandolin and Guitar Summer School in Rhode Island, Guitar Workshop in New Mexico, Pepperdine University in California, Long Beach Classical Guitar Society, Ventura Classical Guitar Society and in Arizona at the Grand Canyon Guitar Society, Kerr Cultural Center, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, and the Chandler Center for the Arts. They ended their last concert season traveling to both coasts with concerts in Los Angeles and New York. Their collaboration with composer John W. Duarte resulted in one of his last works, "Five Moods, Op. 145", and in 2004, the duo was awarded a commission assistance grant from Co-Op Press, beginning a relationship with composer Sy Brandon, who wrote "Southwestern Suite" for Duozona. Their CD "Colors", features music by Sy Brandon, Eugene Bozza, and Jaques Ibert, on Emeritus Recordings, and has received airplay worldwide. Duozona's "Colors" has also been featured on: KBAQ's c.d. of the week, Classical Guitar Alive! and on Flute Radio. Colors has received critical acclaim

"Altogether this is a fine CD of interesting and diverse music that never strays into the mediocre or the avant-garde. It is melodic and engaging throughout and is wonderfully played and very clearly recorded. This is a superb CD in every way".

Chris Dumigan, Classical Guitar Magazine, United Kingdom, February 2008
