Dr. Kevin Kriegel
Prior to his appointment at Glendale Community College, Dr. Kevin Kriegel taught the aural perception classes and conducted the choir at Paradise Valley Community College. He also conducted the men's choir at the Arizona School for the Arts. Dr. Kriegel has held positions at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois, and Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. While at each position, Dr. Kriegel conducted the choirs, taught studio voice, choral conducting, music theory, and opera workshop.
Dr. Kriegel has performed tenor solos in Haydn's Missa in Angustiis, Strauss's Die Fledermaus, Haydn's The Creation, Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb, Delalande's De Profundis, and Bach's cantatas: Aus der Tiefen rufe ich, Herr, zu dir and Schweigt stille, Plaudert nicht, and currently sings professionally for the Phoenix Bach Choir.
Dr. Kriegel graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in K-12 Vocal Music Education, and received his Master of Arts and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Choral Conducting under the supervision of William Hatcher from the University of Iowa.
