A.F.A. Dance
GCC offers an AFA degree in dance providing an intense program of study for those students wishing to obtain certification, continue on for a baccalaureate or to pursue a professional career in dance. This two-year course of study provides a solid foundation in technique, performance and academic studies. It allows for ease of transfer to the university level as well as providing preparatory training for a professional career. Close personal attention in a professional atmosphere allows the student to grow and to develop those skills necessary for dance related careers.
SPECIAL NOTICE
The GCC Dance Program is currently working in conjunction with Ottawa University to offer a 4 year degree and teaching credential in Dance. This program will allow the student to receive 80 credits at the community college level that will apply toward the degree. The remaining 44 will be taken through Ottawa University with many offered on GCC campus. This degree will be in place by Fall of 2007.

Performance Opportunities
GCC offers a number of performance opportunities for student in both college and professional venues. PHYSICAL GRAFFITI, the student company, is intended for those intermediate to advanced level students who wish to participate in an intense atmosphere of study and plan to major in dance. In addition to on campus concerts, the company performs each fall with Center Dance Ensemble in Phoenix, at the Artists of Promise Gala in spring and in various concerts throughout the state. Admittance is by audition only. Auditions are held twice yearly during the week prior to the start of classes for Fall and Spring semester. Scholarships are available to members of PHYSICAL GRAFFITI.
To provide the student with a variety of experiences, GCC invites numerous guest artists and master teachers throughout the year. Guest artists have included
