Mini-Bio: Robert is the new Nutrition Program Director. He has a wide range of experiences to draw from including professional athletes and people living with chronic disease. Robert loves teaching and inspiring students to care about both nutrition and fitness.
Shoreh Moshrefzadeh

Mini-Bio: Shoreh is our FON 100 guru, as she teaches in the classroom and online. She loves teaching this class, as she feels like she gets to help students eat healthier and understand why.

Mini-Bio: Dana is our most recent addition to the faculty in the Nutrition Department. She teaches FON 241 lecture and lab courses. Dana brings an abundance of knowledge from her experiences at the University of Tennessee, where she studied the effects of nutrition on children's health.
Maureen Mason, MS, RD

Mini-Bio: Maureen is our sports nutrition expert and teaches FON210 online. For two years, she worked as the Sports Nutritionist at the University of Florida. Outside of her teaching duties, Maureen runs her own nutrition consulting business.
Romy Nelson, MEd, DTR
Adjunct Faculty
Mini-Bio: Having owned and operated her own, very successful, company with a focus on helping people make lifestyle changes, Romy is the department entrepreneur. Romy teaches the FON247 online class where she shares her knowledge of diet and exercise with students. Romy has been teaching nutrition classes at GCC since 2005.
Deanne Wilson, MS, RD

Mini-Bio: Deanne Wilson is a Registered Dietitian. She attended Arizona State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics (2002) and a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition (2003). Her thesis titled "Undergraduate Dietetics Programs Do Not Support Cross-Training Students in Smoking Cessation" was published in the Journal of Allied Health (2005). She worked at Remuda Ranch (2004 � 2005) specializing in Eating Disorders. She currently works at Arizona State University, where she counsels students on Eating Disorders, weight management with an intuitive eating/non-diet approach, and other health concerns/conditions. She is also a member of ASU's Eating Disorder Treatment Team. She has been teaching nutrition at Glendale Community College for the past three years. She hopes students will be empowered by the nutritional information learned at GCC.
