Prior to the start of class you must do your MCCCD Supplemental Background Check. The vendor for that service is Certified Background Check and you will need to use a "package code" specific to the school where you were placed.

There is a brief instruction sheet available, but ONLY USE THE BOLDED CODE ABOVE. Do not use a code for another school.

Please remember you MUST be able to show that you have a valid LEVEL I Fingerprint Clearance Card and a "Pass" status on the MCCCD Background Check on the first day of your program. If you do not receive a "Pass' on your background check and have questions regarding this you will need to contact Student Support at Certified Background 888.666.7788 Ext 1 or email studentservices@certifiedprofile.com.

We strongly suggest you complete the background check as soon as you have accepted placement. Delaying completion of the background check could result in your inability to begin your program, and if there is an issue with your background you may not have time prior to the start of your program to contact Certified Background if you have questions about the results.

All students who enter health care programs at Maricopa Community Colleges (MCCCD) must meet the following background check requirements

• Possession of a valid Level I  DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card
• “Pass” result for MCCCD supplemental Background check-This Check screens for barrier offenses as identified by our most stringent clinical agency partners (See list of Barrier Offenses on Health care education website)

If you are planning to enter one of the MCCCD health care programs OR are on a wait list for one of the MCCCD health care programs and wish to see if you will pass the supplemental background check you may complete a Maricopa Community College Self Assessment through our identified vendor Certified Background (also called Certified Profile).  This is offered as a service and is not a requirement.

This check is private-between you and Certified Background. MCCCD will NOT be able to view these results. PLEASE NOTE-Since MCCCD will not be able to view results from a Self Assessment check individuals who choose to complete this Self Assessment will still be required to pay ($67.00) and complete a second background check upon admission into an MCCCD health care program.
