Bio
Biography
Dr Townsend has been an RN for 36 years. She has worked in various areas including med-surg, and small amounts of pediatrics, OB, psych, and rehab. Most recently she has been a hospice nurse, and found this to be her passion. She likes working with student nurses, in particular those at the beginning levels of nursing school. She enjoys the growth she witnesses over the course of a semester.
Dr Townsend is a volunteer at the Arizona State Board of Nursing and serves on the Scope of Practice Committee. She is also a certified nurse educator (CNE).
Personally, she has a wonderful husband and four children (two of which she brought into her marriage and two she acquired through marriage). She enjoys quilting, reading, and traveling in her free time. Her favorite city, so far, has been Rome. She is also very happy when she can visit family in the Seattle area.
