Enroll NOW for Summer Session II and Fall Semesters at GCC!

Registration for Summer Session II and Fall semesters at Glendale Community College is still open. Summer Session II begins on Mon., July 3. Fall semester begins on Sat., Aug. 19. Registration is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Students may register over the phone at 623.845.3333 or in person at the GCC campus, 6000 W. Olive Ave. in Glendale. The college offers a wide selection of classes in many disciplines, such as Psychology, Biology, English, Mathematics, Business, Foreign Language and more. An especially wide array of classes in Computer Information Systems (CIS) and Computer Science (CSC) will include: Excel I, PowerPoint I, MS-DOS Operating System, Windows Operating System I, and World Wide Web/Introductory Internet Programming. These classes have no prerequisites and are offered at a variety of times. To register, inquire about a specific class, or request a mailed copy of the summer and/or fall GCC schedule of classes, call 623.845.3333. GCC Automotive Students Win 7 of top 15 Awards at Statewide Competition

Competing against 1,706 students from around Arizona, Glendale Community College automotive students walked away with seven of the top 15 awards at the Skills USA Automotive Technology Competition held recently in Phoenix. The GCC students are enrolled in the highly respected GCC ASSET program, a Ford training program. Ford dealers sponsor students in the program that includes class work on campus alternating with internships at the dealerships. GCC also offers a GM program called ASEP and a Daimler-Chrysler program called CAP, structured like the ASSET program. A non-factory-sponsored General Program in Automotive Technology is offered as well. GCC is well known for its automotive technology programs. Hundreds of GCC students have been hired for well-paying jobs at dealerships around the Valley since these programs began. GCC Jazz Band Blows Roof off National Jazz Competition in Reno

Jazz is king at Glendale Community College ever since last month's big win at the prestigious University of Reno Jazz Festival. Under the baton of renowned GCC Jazz Band and Jazz Combo Director Dave Schmidt, and competing against almost 300 bands in all categories, GCC's Jazz Combo took first place and GCC's Big Jazz Band took second place in their respective two-year college categories. GCC Drummer Andrew Hake of Glendale also won the Outstanding Rhythm Section Performer Award for the entire festival. For more information about GCC's music programs, call 623.845.3720.
