GCC's New Journalism Certificate Offers Rapid Path to Careers
A new Journalism Certificate of Completion offered at Glendale Community College gives students a new, rapid pathway to an in-demand career field. This certificate prepares students to work in the publishing industry whether they have a bachelor's degree in another discipline or are just beginning their career path in journalism. The Certificate includes journalism courses required by journalism schools throughout the state and country and requires an internship in journalism and a juried portfolio of published articles. The certificate requires only 18 credit hours--most Associates degrees require 60-65 credits, and most Bachelors degrees require 125 or more credits. Certificates of Completion are a good choice for those who seek immediate entry into the work force or on-the-job advancement. For more information on this new program or any of the more than 50 other GCC certificate programs, visit the campus at 6000 W. Olive Ave. in Glendale to see an academic advisor in the Enrollment Center, or call 623.845.3097.
