Hands-On Technology for Teens at GCC's Tech Camp, July 11-14
West Valley students who will be in high school this fall can enter the fascinating world of hands-on technology, from basic computing to electronics and robotics, when Glendale Community College hosts its 7th annual "Tech Camp," July 11-14, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Lab exercises, classroom projects and field trips to technology companies will give students insight into various tech fields and career opportunities. Tech Camp—including breakfast and lunch all four days—is free for selected applicants. Students must apply for Tech Camp and may do so online at www.gc.maricopa.edu/techcamp. Time, Memories and Landscape Featured in Photo Exhibit
Professor Dean K. Terasaki of the Glendale Community College Art Department will open his photography exhibition of autobiographical triptychs titled "Tablets, Notations and Lori's Gift," on July 1, 2005. Terasaki, M.F.A., has taught at GCC since 1986 and is the lead photography instructor. The show will be held at The Kitchenette, a collaborative gallery of 11 photographers at 918 N. 6th Street in Phoenix, behind the Red Eye Gallery. The exhibition is free and open to the public, but is viewable by appointment only, except for the following three receptions when the artist will be present: Fri., July 1, 6-10 p.m., Sat., July 2, 12-4 p.m., and Fri., July 15, 6-10 p.m. The exhibit will reflect the passage of time, memory, being a parent, entering late middle age, and the Arizona landscape.
