DONATIONS NEEDED FOR "OPERATION PROVIDE COMFORT"
If you are looking for a way to support U.S. troops in Iraq, the Professional Staff Association and the Psi Beta Psychology Honor Society at Glendale Community College have a project for you! They are co-sponsoring "Operation Provide Comfort" to gather and ship items requested by the U.S. Military for U.S. troops in Iraq. Requested supplies will provide creature comforts, much-needed snacks, and protection from the sand, sun, and wind. Items needed include toilet paper, kleenex, toothpaste/toothbrushes, saline eye wash, Chapstick, Vaseline, over-the-counter pain relievers, saline nasal spray, sunscreen, AA batteries, one and two-gallon Ziplock bags, gum, hard candy, granola bars, beef jerky, and postage stamps. Cash donations are also needed to help with shipping costs. GCC is located at 59th and Olive Avenues in Glendale. Campus drop-off spots for donated items include: Library (Mary Zavala), Administration Building (Martha Gail Richmond), Fitness Center (Louise Martin), Enrollment Center (Karron Ballard), High Tech Center 1 (Felicia Berg), and High Tech Center 2 (Don Jensen-Bobadilla).
